Android apps like Twitter, whatsapp etc lag A LOT and it's really frustrating, is this a common issue? Is their any fix for this?

The only real fix is to get a modern android phone.

You've got an app running on what is basically an emulator (an android runtime running in a virtual machine inside the BB10 OS). And the runtime is 4.3 at best. All of that is running on 5 1/2 year old hardware.

Yes, the Z30 came out in October of 2013, but the Snapdragon S4 Pro running it was released in mid 2012.

The fewer Android apps you run the better the performance in my experience but you'll still be limited by the runtime and aging hardware.
