They better get on the 1080 bandwagon. Think about when the low end androids will have 720 (released in 2 months) and our FLAGSHIP is going to be at 720. EMBARRASSING!

    Oh, and Snapdragon800.

Impossible to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on 5" screen. If I want 1080p I'll use hdmi-out or DLNA to my TV. And a dual core 1,7ghz processor with a dedicated quad core gpu and 2gb ram is more than enough to run any app or game on any platform available today.

Probably because most 5" screens are 1080p. I'm sure you can tell the difference between two 5" screens sitting next to each other if one has a ppi of 441 and the other has a ppi of 295. That's a pretty drastic difference.

Now if you're comparing it to 720p screens in the 4"-4.7" then I would agree with you because it would be based more on the technology, brightness, and sharpness.

As for the Aristo, I don't see it being that big of an upgrade to my Z10. I mean think about it like this, the Z10 just got its prices reduced to around $49 or $99 and someone asks you which phone to get. With those specs could you convince them to pay $199 for the Aristo over $99 or even $49 for the Z10? The answer could be yes simply for battery life, but my counter to that would be just getting a battery pack for like $80 or the battery kit for $50.

Thank god the iPhone isn't even 720p. It's like 690p or something like that.

It is not drastic when you consider the eyes limit of 250ppi. If a person with 20/20 vision can't see any more detail than 250ppi from 12 inches. You could have a 1000ppi and it wouldn't change a thing. You still couldn't see the difference.

Technical truth is one thing....media preception is another. im just saying that will be the narrative on tue product regardless if people notice the difference or not.

After you going on and on and on about how eyes can't see more than 250ppi. I decided to test it, one of my neighbors has a Galaxy S4. I was trying to read some text on the screen, went in close, what do you know.

I saw pixels. On a 1080p screen. Granted it was Pentile, at 441ppi it equates to a real ppi of 295... That wasn't good at all.

So shut up about your pixel argument.

"enough to run any app or game on any platform today" Look how much phone technology went up in a year which forced iphone to even upgrade their OS. These next few years to come technology is going to get huge. If i get the Aristo I want it to be able to run 10.2, 10.3 - BB11. This is a damn flagship phone. BB10 can't even run on 1GB of RAM which is why the playbook which is pretty new and was supposed to have BB10 on it. Screen wise i don't care about soo much but the average consumer just thinks the higher number is better and that would be the deciding factor who knows.
