I went through the clock app that was leaked for OS 10.2 and found support for an A-Series device with a resolution of 720x1280.

No not that I can find, however if I open one of the pictures on my laptop that isn't listed under any dimension (so I don't know if it is the A10), it measures 4 7/8" tall and almost 3" wide on my screen but I doubt that is accurate.

Well not exactly, most of the 10.1 apps already have the PB listed in them.

10.2 is going to be more incremental since it will be building on 10.0/10.1 so maybe they finally have time to optimise it so that it runs well enough on the 1gig in a pb.

i mean, if they are having assets for PB's resolutions in the bar, then they might just be testing them out on PB too

That would be a bit low I find for a five inch screen. Why not 1920x1080?

I'm not sure why people are acting surprised. Blackberry told the world ages ago that all 2013 phones will stick to the two resolutions set by the Z10 and Q10.

10 even though I love bb. And support them I will leave until they get a stronger resolution and better colors or comparable to the new phones

It doesn't matter what they do -- if they come out with the highest specs of any smart phone on the planet and absolutely astonishing additions and features in the OS, someone somewhere will find some reason to knock it. Guaranteed.

What people are going to have to remember is that this is going to be a high-end device -- their flagship that will be more for showing off what they can do with the platform than putting a dent in Apple's or Samsung's market share.

A human being with 20/20 vision can't resolve anything over 229ppi. Anything more is wasted, unless you use hdmi out on a big screen.

But that feature is so obvious. They could get it right so easily. There is no point in my view to have a very similar screen resolution as the z10. They could just take the z10 resolution so developers don't have the problem to convert the App. 1080x1920 is the way to go.

    It's actually 326ppi.

If BlackBerry comes out with a flagship with a 720p screen.... It's not a flagship. They're fooling themselves if they think that's going to sway a customer from Android or iPhone.

If anything, that will PUSH THEM AWAY.

Can they really make a phone with a 5-inch screen anyway? The Z10 is already nearly the size of the Galaxy S4 and HTC One as it is, thanks to its active bezels. A 5-inch device would probably be larger than a Galaxy Note II.

Stop fooling yourselves, it's (sadly) the truth

For a 5inch device, what would be the ppi of 720x1280?? Is it more than the "324ppi?"

I know we are in experience race, but still...

Sorry but this is a pretty ignorant post. The Z's screen is up to par, 356ppi put that on 100% brightness and you got yourself a damn good display.

    Z10? Why yes it is.

293 PPI. About 65% of what Android flagships have.
