4G not working on my BlackBerry Z30 with Airtel network carrier, how can I get it working?

I have BlackBerry Z30 and it is up2date with latest updates.

I am from India, Maharashtra and have Airtel 4G sim card. Although my Z30 is 4G compatible, it wont show 4G signal nor detect 4G. Please note 3G works just fine.

I tried inserting my sim card in another Android phone, and it detected LTE network i.e 4G network without any issues and also showed correct download speed.

Can someone please advise what could be the problem here? Just FYI my phone has "Network Mode" set to 4G & 3G & 2G. I even tried it setting to 4G & 3G but no luck. The same sim card works perfect on another Android phone at same location, so I dont think it could be 4G signal strength issue.

Check the model of your Z30 against this list to see if it has the frequencies and bands that your carrier uses:

As per your guide, I checked my Z30 and it is STA100-2 model number.

Since I use Airtel in India, as per information on wikipedia :
en.wikipedia. org/wiki/List_of_mobile_network_operators_of_the_Asia_Pacif ic_region#India ; Airtel uses 2300Mhz for LTE which is 4G

Does this mean my Z30 of STA100-2 model which supports "800, 900, 1800, 2600" wont support Airtel band of 2300Mhz, thus not supporting 4G for my network carrier?

You will get HSPA+ but not TD LTE.

I wouldn't worry too much about the terms used, LTE, 4G, etc. but what your download speeds are. (my opinion only)

With 4G Simcard in my BB Z30, I get download speed of 10-12 Mpbs as checked on speedtest app (with my phone settings to 4g&3g&2g and network showing H+ signal).

With the same 4G simcard in another Andriod phone at same location where I checked BB Z30, I get download speed of 30Mbps (with Android phone with LTE settings and network showing 4g signal).

Is it possible to load the radio bar file of another Model number so that it can support additional LTE bands?? I am facing the same issue as well. Airtel in Chennai has LTE band 3 whereas my BlackBerry Z30 STA 100-5 supports only 4,5 & 7.

Please help.

The radio bar file can do nothing to change the physical hardware of the device. You need to find a phone that supports band 3. I the case of the Z30, that would be the -2 and -6 models.

I stay in new Delhi. And 4G works fine, though not all areas have full coverage

Maybe the frequency bands are different provided by air tel in India, some places it s offering 4G on 1800mhz, I am getting 4G here in andhrapradesh
