    What are these holes for? I noticed my Otter Box Defender case has holes in it also that line up with them.

    I tried to cover them up while speaking and still, the guy on the other end line can hear me...

    So, I'm probably going to stick on that "discombobulating" theory...

    Actually Z30 have 4 microphones and 3 speakers. Those two holes represent two of the microphones. Another two at the bottom.
    And the speakers are one facing you, and another two at the back top and bottom.

    But I wouldn't trust this info I gave.
    I'd rather go with discombulating theory.

    They are for background noises etc. Allows the phone to filter them out when talking on the phone
