Maybe its just me so please excuse me.

    1. I keep pressing the "mute" or "voice control" button when I hold the phone. It seems a bit too soft (not tactile enough)

    2. During phone calls I keep pressing the mute button by mistake.

Does someone know how to turn off the voice control feature?

LOL, it's not a design flaw, move your fingers. Use a headset or use the earbuds. LMAO! Don't call it a design flaw though. #facepalm

Settings > voice control > open with mute key > off.

And, well, it doesn't seem like a design flaw. The average fella holds their phone a little lower.

I have the same problems and agree....specially the mute problem...for me the buttons are way to easy to press...but isn't that what makes a machine more human ;-)

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the Mute button problem. I've resorted to turning Voice Control off via the button.

My main issue is with taking the back cover off. I like to switch phones and it's unnecessarily difficult to pry the cover open to get to the SIM chip. Hopefully, it loosens up over time...

Reminds me of my Note 2. I would lock it every time I would grab it to answer a call. The Lock button is pretty much on the same location as the volume controls of the Z30.

I'm having the same problem, too. I noticed it on the way home and started to panic as I noticed the volume down button wasn't working for the volume and seemed to be triggering the voice control.
I just turned voice control off in settings and the media buttons work as they should.

This is a design flaw. I hold my z10 on the mute / volume keys and they are springy enough to not set off from the pressure during my calls. I don't know why z30 would have softer buttons

That's what I said. The z10s buttons are harder to press.

Isn't there something on the phone for when you put your face up to it in a phone call the screen goes black (locks) so you cheek doesn't mute/end cals etc?

9900 didn't have it but these BB10 devices do

Proximity sensor is what makes the phone turn off.

If your screen isn't going black when your face is near then it could be broken. I don't know if it would be a software issue either..

I have the same annoying problem. It is not just that the buttons on the Z30 are soft, they are so loose that they rattle when you shake the phone. Why these are not the same as on the Z10 is beyond me. I love everything about the phone except the volume/mute buttons.

Solution to the soft mute/voice control button. Toggle the settings under settings then voice control.

I think the new leaked OS 10.2.1.1055 has addressed the problem with accidently muting phone calls when you put it against your face.
