So I just got an email from BlackBerry saying get my Apps compatible with the Z3... That seems a bit weird because they only related the device to the Z30. Check it out. Date for doing this by is 14th March so I guess a release is soon around or after that date!

    Plus device is on 10.2.1.

That's because they will be both 720p and exact same dimensions 1280x720

It says same screen size and physical dimensions as the Z30, but omits any mention of resolution. Hopefully it's the same, but the supposed chipset in the Z3 is locked to a lower resolution. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Somewhere in Waterloo someone is reading this and thinking to themselves.. "Duh! Is it really not that obvious?" No offense OP, not really intended for your comments, just the resolution 'debate' in general.

Honestly, I think almost everyone on this site hopes it's 720p. It's just surprising that with so much confusion surrounding it, Blackberry wouldn't have just given out the specs for devs. I mean, they gave out basically every other spec, screen size, dimensions, aspect ratio, and we even know the chipset, yet there's no mention of actual resolution.

Now if you're sitting on an embargod review, and are privy to information that the rest of us aren't, then please proceed to chuckle as we try to pick apart every word, spec and image of the unreleased device

Where is this photo from? Whoever took it and had both devices in their hand, did he or she have a closer look? Isn't there a realistic chance to check pixel size, pixelation or try to pick up scaling is there is any?

    Just sayin'.

I haven't compared Z10 and Z30 side by side, but read that icons on the Z30 look frayed and not as clean as on the Z10. My first thought was, oh no, scaling!

Z30 / Z10 comparison: I don't necessarily mean scaling of screen res, but the icons or other screen elements.

I'm still trying to figure out why anyone cares until the LTE version is released.

    Z3 gonna have 720p resolution.

Diversified Communication Losers & Gainers: BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY), Glowpoint (NYSEMKT:GLOW), Sky-mobi (NASDAQ:MOBI), Oi SA (NYSE:OIBR) | Tech Insider

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) sent an email out today about the new BlackBerry Z3 that they announced at MWC 2014.
They confirmed in the email that the device will target customers in Indonesia and has the same resolution as the Z30.

Their source is the same email that has been posted around, which makes no mention of the resolution.

I won't be surprised if it's a 720p screen since it's made in China, most $150~200 phone here are using 4.7~5 inch screen with a 720P resolution.

Doubt it, otherwise the porting process wouldn't be as automatic as that developer email said it would be.

The Z3 should have a similar resolution screen as the Z30. Since we are talking about a 5" screen a lower resolution would be useless since we already have Chinese brands that sell phones with similar displays very cheap.
The Amoled screen on the Z30 was for me a little disappointment since the display on the Z10 looked much brighter.
With a resolution similar to the Z30 and proper marketing campaigns and reasonable positioned prices, the Z3 could be the bee that saves the hive. All we can say for now is Good Luck!

He should have been able to spot it, as an expert. Has he dropped any info anywhere yet?

I remember the Z3 was announced a qHD 960x540, but no further verification.
