Been team BB for 8-9 years and I've always religiously backed up my phones to my computer's server on BlackBerry link.
I have been using the Z30 for almost a year and decided to try the Z3, but even after I've installed updates for both phones, when I try to pull the most recent Z30 Backup onto the Z3, it gives me an error saying the PIN doesn't match?
I've never seen this error before and I've swapped phones numerous times with this method, always with ease.
Anyone else experience this?

you can't load a backup onto the phone, you need to do a device switch. is that what you did?

I've done device switch, that's not what I would like to do.

I had the same error message when restorign from q10 to z30.

Security wipe the z3, when z3 starts up login using the same blackberry id as the z30, back up restore should then work

I did a backup for both of them, updated, backed up again, then what do you know!
It worked. I was pretty sure they both were running the "relative" OS 10.
I got it, though. By the way, am I just out of the loop or is "Device Switch" something sort-of new?
I buy myself a new Blackberry each tax season and with prior phones, I've always just plugged the new one in and restored it with my old phone's backup.
