    ...according to the following article:

BlackBerry Z3 Appears In Malaysian Authorities Database: Coming Soon To Stores? | Lowyat.NET

I tried for quite a while to find where Malaysia's telecom authority ("SIRIM") publishes smartphone certification documents to confirm this, gave up. If anyone else wants to try, look for STJ100-1:

    SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd.
    Malaysian Certified

If it's not completely passed certification there it should be very soon, anyway.

And it appears BlackBerry has documents already for the Indian version, see last line on page (PDF):

They should launch with a limited number stamped with Kuala Lumpur on them.

comparing consumer research between malaysia/indonesia, marketing that appeals to nationalistic sentiment is far more effective in indo vs malaysia. average income in malaysia is quite a bit higher, so this phone is selling like hotcakes now:

if there are any malaysians here, thers a new batch of Mi3's arriving today apparently. sales start at 12 noon local time. the last batch of 5,000 units sold out in 9 minutes lol. this time they have 6,000 units. Somehow i doubt the Z3 has any hope of hitting those figures in malaysia.

was referring to the previous poster, average income in malaysia being higher than indonesia means devices with a mi3 price tag is the sweet spot around here. (US$275). The Redmi/Z3 on the other hand is $149usd, more of an indonesian market sweet spot, but i dont think its been released in indo yet.

Z3 is also the first BB10 device to hit that price point. It's not just some other android phone...

malaysia is android territory. far many more blackberry fans in indonesia, but declining rapidly.Source: our app has 25 million users, most of which are from indonesia. we can see the hard data.majority legacy bbos users switching to our android app vs bb10. furthermore i also used to write for one of the biggest tech news sites in asia so i know quite well what the region is like

25,000 is nothing in a city which has 10 million urban users (jakarta alone). and they're all out of stock. we saw a similar thing during the z10 launch. hardcore users bought the first shipment within the first few days, then sales dried up

like it or not, users in indo are abandoning BBM and moving towards line messenger and wechat. line in particular has been highly aggressive. even with TVC's and cinema ads, promoter girls walking around malls.....

nexian, spice mobile and a bunch of other local android manufacturers are grabbing market.

It seems to be a bit different in Indonesia with the Z3 launch, when compared to last years Z10 launch. The device is more affordable and within the price range of a much larger demographic of the population. Sales of this device are still strong there more than 2 weeks after the launch, which is an indication that it's more than just hardcore BlackBerry users buying that device.

BBM is the most popular messenging software being used in that country, as per the link below.
