    Translation:

BlackBerry Jakarta or Z3 has just been offered in a pre-order which started on Monday, 28/04/14.

As can be predicted, the first BlackBerry handheld made by Foxconn is enthusiastically expected by gadget-lovers in Indonesia.

The 750 units prepared by the seller was sold at once in under 5 hours since the pre-order session had begun.

This is certainly a good news for BlackBerry! People should be able to try the BlackBerry 10 OS without having to pay too much money. I hope this would gain BlackBerry some market share in the handheld market!

That's an ok start but not the numbers I was hoping for. 750 is very low. Not what I would consider a good start

Only 750 were prepared by the seller?

What is this... a bakery? sheesh.

Thats what I initially thought too. While numbers look ok it is 750 in 5h so a run rate of 150/h at one seller. How many sellers are there?
What about online sales? Again how many phone companies? I have read released on three.

The stock has been moving up since the release so the big boys seem to think sales are above their expectations. What ever they may be. Unlike Z10 release when the stock did not keep going up but started to move down.

And finally no analyst has come out with negative comments saying sales suck.

So hopefully things are going well.

First time I have heard numbers, so thanks for the post.

The question is who is the seller - one of several carriers, or is it BlackBerry or their distribution channel.

If one small carrier - 750 might be great! If 750 was the WHOLE pre-order..... means nothing, other than it's great to have headlines.

I think it was only one carrier. From XL if I'm not mistaken. Still it is an encouraging news for the BlackBerry. I know that 750 is not many. Lol. But people here rarely pre-order mobile phones.

    750???
In any case it should have been 75000 !!

750 is toooo low.... They need to put atleast 5000 on the preorder....

And it seems they are overtly cautious with the inventory levels and they don't want any pile up of unsold products on the shelves....

Indonesia has never been a good indicator on a successful mobile phones sales in terms of quantity, especially compared to the US or even the UK, Canada, etc. We don't have a particular smartphone selling in millions.

Still,, being sold out is a good thing. I wouldn't worry by how much it sells. Since It'll be tiny compared to the sales in other (more developed) countries.

Little by little is a good thing.
Never produce too much if there isn't enough demand. That's a smart move.

If it is 750 for each shop who sold them out, ot is 750 x 3... not that bad for the first 5h...

Who doesn't want the small things, doesn't deserve the big ones!

Indonesians aren't too keen on pre-order. Remember: in Indonesia online transaction like that isn't the norm.

But 750 is extremely low. IDK why they only prepared 750. It sure sounds like 750 is the entire pre-order stock

I got the news from Kaskus BlackBerry channel. I don't know where did they get the information. Lol. But I have checked myself the official BlackBerry websites, and there I found the pre-order offers are still available for certain bundle (carrier), but totally sold out for some carriers. I still think that this is a good indicator.

Depends on the actual amount of stock they have for pre-order. If you only have 1 device for each carrier, pre-order getting sold out isn't stellar. I know it's taking it to the extreme, but you get my point.

The 750 would have been the special Jakarta signature ones. Which is likely the reason it comes across as if they were made in a bakery.

If Foxconn is on the line for any unsold inventory then I'll bet they only made what they knew they could sell.

Possibly a typo? 750 seems like a very very small number. And I didn't think the phone would go on preorder till later this month, or am I mistaken?

As we should have all learned from the Z10 launch, all the speculation about "selling out" is meaningless especially since no one who really knows how much inventory was available is saying anything. "Selling out" can mean a million units or a hundred units so it is totally pointless to speculate. The only numbers we will be able to rely on will be those reported at the first quarterly results announcement from BBRY after launch. We will also be able to judge demand for the Z3 by how consumers react (for example, are there queues for the product?).

Foxconn is managing the supply chain, so I don't expect for the same mistakes that happen with the z10 to be repeated.
