they are selling it here (once available) for 899AED which equals 244$. In a country without taxes.
You get however a 200AED app voucher with it if you pre order....

I think the pricing went wrong and in order to compete with the low specs it has with windows and android phones over here they would have been advised better to hit just below the 200$ mark....

i guess they hope to make some money here as lot of people are loyal to blackberry over here. But the specs are just not worth that money....
You get a Lumia 625 with almost same specs but 4G for 100AED less....

WHAT? if you are biased for windows phone thats okay, but dont spread bs, lumia 625 has 1 gb LESS memory, smaller resolution screen and size, worse CPU, smaller battery (1450mAh difference!), only VGA front camera (z3 has 1.1mpx)

so you pay 100 AED less for a LOT worse hardware, but it has 4g... great... HSDPA+ can handle 25mbit/s as well, yes 4g can do like 60-70mbit but do they really offer that much in the UAE?

also, why would anyone buy a cheap phone for 4g? i highly doubt someone with the money to get unlimited data plan would be looking for a phone in the $200 range... 4g is totally useless for a cheap phone, you wont even stream fullhd videos on that because the screen size is 1/4th of full hd

YES, they do offer that much in the UAE, as a matter of fact they do offer that much in almost any gulf country!

but the fact still stands that other than downloading stuff from torrent you cant use that speed on a screen thats 1/4th of fullhd... and also if someone can afford unlimited data then he wont put up with a $200 phone either

It seems that z3 is only under 200 USD in Indonesia...

Let's see how the market reacts in AEU... hopefully very well.
