Price in Saudi Arabia is $213, final price because it's a tax free country.

Does this take into account different inflation rates and PPP? Nominal prices may differ but the real prices might be more similar..

The maker of a product does not have the power enforce a price. Blackberry says $200 but the sellers from where the products will be sold determines the final price. The only way the Z3 price will be under $200 or at par is if Blackberry sells it from their own stores.

This is disappointing. Price should have been around or below $200 to gain market share. Is this Blackberry legacy to over price its products? I am afraid vendors with Android phones are giving much better good value in price sensitive emerging markets. Blackberry will have tough time gaining any traction at these prices.

Blame the price tag nightmare on the Re-sellers and not Blackberry.

Well Blackberry and Foxconn also had a role to play. Inventory problems in Indonesia meant that after the initial batch went on sale many were picked up for resale because they knew new stock wasn't coming anytime soon and sold those for a good markup. If there is no supply remaining units will be sold over retail. Thats on the Blackberry/Foxconn relationship: Foxconn has less faith in BB10 than many in the media it seems.

Meanwhile Foxconn is hiring up to 100,000 extra temp workers to prepare for the Iphone 6 rollout so who knows when Z3s will see the shelf in large numbers in the countries already launched and those planned.

according to the article, these prices were prior to any carrier incentives that would have essentially brought the prices down.

I dont see how 200/250 is bad?

I would be all over that if I wanted to buy out my phone.

Unlike the $600+ phones that cost you that price after locking into a contract, the Z3 seems like a total catch.

That's not true, Saudi Arabia and UAE are tax free countries yet they have different prices and they are both higher than Indonesia.
