Kalemsoft. It's a paid app, but well worth it.

Nutty Player is not bad, and it's free.

Why is throwing a couple of bucks at a developer that has built a great app a bad thing? We desperately want native apps, but insist they be free. This attitude is so frustrating.

Kalemsoft, have it on my 64 go PlayBook and it plays everything. This app is single-handedly keeping my PlayBook relevant.

Another vote for Kalemsoft. It also plays vob files which is a raw dvd file.

Sometimes its frustrating to not able to buy apps from appstore because blackberry marketplace do not allow flexible payment options. I can't buy as I don't keep credit card and BlackBerry won't accept debit card. Devs don't reply to direct payment queries either. Free apps are just what they are, free.

Maybe because we got spoiled with other platforms that have free apps. A good example for this is VLC.

In India we always had BYOD services and apart from BIS billing I have not seen any instance of carriers billing you for anything apart from core services they offer. It'd pretty grim here.

I have read it does but no BlackBerry device had this much processing power to render at even remotely close decent frame rate.

I use mx player. VLC sometimes want to go headless (opens itself in the background) and devours the battery.

Recommend Kalemsoft. It's been able to handle all the craziness I've thrown at it ad great streaming media support is you have your own media server.

Been using MX Player (thru Snap) with software decoder to read AC3 and DTS audio streams (yes, I know :-D) and it's been OK so far. I guess I'll try KalemSoft, it lists AC3 as supported in the Details page.
