LTE connected phone call to another LTE connected phone gives you high definition calling. Enjoy it. Don't sweat it.

Just noticed that you are on H+. Perhaps that's close enough to LTE. The max speeds of H+ should easily handle HD calling so perhaps that's why you see it.

It's a carrier thing. Some carriers have HD calling enabled.

It has to do with making calls over a 3G or higher network, rather than defaulting to 2G.

My carrier doesn't have LTE either, and I've had HD calling for years, even before I had a Blackberry10 device.

LTE and HSPA is Data only and has nothing to do with voice

the "HD" means that the carrier support "HD Voice" codec (W-AMR), which is also supported by your phone.

The codec utilize a broader spectrum of the voice, and is capable of deliver a much more natural, and higher quality voice, than other "non HD" codecs

I remember my carrier advertised HD Voice before, never noticed the "HD" during calls though. Maybe it was just advertising and they never really deployed the real thing :-D

HD calling is available for 3G & 4G connections. This is also completely dependent on the carrier you are on and if they support it.

ALL BlackBerry devices support HD voice and it's a good thing. For example, in Africa, you can only have HD voice on 3G, so when I make a call on my Q5. It automatically switches from LTE-A down to 3G so I can have a batter call and then back up to LTE-A for better data

Doesn't Passport SE support HD voice? I used to have it on my other BB10 devices, e.g. Q10, Z30, and Classic.

HD calling can also be supported over 2G, just not many carriers chose to do that.
