Ive been chewing through 100MB in 24 hours. Just blew through 600 MB since Tuesday and 450

No streaming/downloading/adobe Flash and only offline map usage and normal app usage

What in the heck. How do I monitor my data usage?

That's one drawback of having no data compression. Also if you are using activesync for emails then its gonna download all emails with attachments.

There are data monitoring apps in BlackBerry world or sometimes your carrier apps will allow for data monitoring. Adjust your sync times, turn on wifi and data services off whenever you can and check your application permissions.

That definitely doesn't seem normal if you are using the phone like you said. I use similarly with no video streaming and just the regular email/messaging app plus a few Web pages a day. I usually use up 80-110 mb a week. I would recommend getting a data monitor as well to check what apps are using what. Although the only ones in the app world I'm aware of right now are 99 cents.

Do you leave some apps open all the time. Maybe they are always updating while they are open.

Wow, i've been finding the opposite, but of course I know better than to stream music or video through my data connection. I also use wifi whenever possible.

Had that issue with ported android apps not all of them but certainly ones that update a lot. My side loads have not caused issues yet. Once I deleted the offending apps I was back to normal

I have the Reddit in Motion app and my data doesn't get eaten alive when the app is closed. Naturally if you're browsing Reddit a lot and looking at pics posted and such it's gonna eat your data. The app doesn't compress anything so what you see is the full version. If you use the app a lot then maybe think about only using it on Wi-Fi or maybe lay off the media.

Try just using reddit.com ,at bottom of page switch it to "mobile", save as a bookmark to your homepage....voila!! Better than any reddit app ever! Fully functionable...

Something to check - your box and dropbox accounts. If you've logged into them and have them set to syncronize, they can continue syncronizing even if you close the app unless you log out first. So if they're set up to sync your photos, for example, ever photo you take will upload, using your data.

Wow - that's not normal based on what you described. I would check app permissions, disable location services, change the sync and or notification parameters of your mail and social accounts. Maybe a rogue side loaded app? I average 500mb per month but mostly utilize wifi.

Email is set to check every 4 hours and the other is every 30 minutes. Push turned off on both. But it doesn't make a difference because emails seem to be pushed instantly. Gmail and Hotmail.

Many, many posts dating back to the surprised new owners of Z10's during March Intro. As others herein post, there are a few apps but most carriers supply an app for monitoring. The Z (actually BB10) is not a phone that mixes limited data plans and anything but the lightest data usage well. ... But, it is still possible to go limited data plan if careful to use WIFI and shutting down data support when away from WIFI for extended periods and/or you have an unused data carry-over clause/feature in your plan.

Watch your apps and particularly syncing of e-mail accounts but also search and read the many posts/threads on this topic for more insight.
Hey, if this is your only issue (and I have no reason to believe either way), you're doing great.

    Having a similar issue.
Just got off the phone with Telus. I got a really good guy there. I showed him this from a couple of days ago (from my Telus account web page):

    7:50:51 AM 18.45 MB Data Usage $0.92
    6:50:47 AM 18.50 MB Data Usage $0.93
    5:50:47 AM 18.42 MB Data Usage $0.92
    4:50:47 AM 18.68 MB Data Usage $0.93
    2:50:45 AM 17.69 MB Data Usage $0.88

Notice the consistency in the amount of data consumed. Then notice the time of day. At these times of the day I was either sleeping or just getting ready to go to work, had not left the house and the phone is supposedly on WIFI.
I got my overage bill removed which is good. I also got him to agree that this was likely to happen again so I have his name and employee number to refer to next month or next week. The above examples are things I have seen before. Not sure what it is yet but I will find out. I wonder what that 18.5 mb of data consumption is from.... Hmmm... Stay tuned, or chime in if you have any ideas!
