    VZ has sent me a replacement for my current Z10 because of issues I am having with notifications not working in vibrate mode. I am currently running 10.2.0.1791. The VZ replacement ill be their 10.1.0.2039 I believe. I know I will not transfer my settings because of the many differences between the OS versions. Can I backup to link the media files and reload them to the new device?
    I am not even going to try and reload the apps. I'll just download those again.
    I also have downloaded the Backup my Phone app, so if Link shouldn't be used to transfer the media, I'll use that app.

    If you're just planning on backing up the media files (music, pictures, videos, documents) why don't you just drag and drop them into a folder in your PC? Or the SD card?

    You really don't need Link for that.

    Use fire chest for your contacts and sms backup for texts. Now you don't need link period
