My battery ran out while travelling overseas, when I reached my destination, I realised my z10 won't start.
    - When plugged in, the red light blinks once every few minutes.
    - When I press the power button, it blinks twice after about 10 seconds.
    - When I remove the battery while it's still plugged in, the red light stays for a couple of seconds and then goes off.
    - It does not connect to my computer.
    - I do not have warranty.

    .. any fix..?

Let it charge for at least an hour and then try turning it on again.

Make sure to charge it - again for at least an hour. Then

    Try a restart:

Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully BLACK< KEEP HOLDING THROUGH THE Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.

If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work. In that case, Press and HOLD the Power On Button until you see the LOGO as above

If that does not work, find an Autoloader in the OS (or even the Leak) subforum. Run it, when it asks for Bootrom or such, plug in the usb. See if it runs - it opens a Dos Box and numbers and text will click away. Once the Dos Box closes, remove usb and see if the phone reboots. The autoloaders are LARGE and can take time to download.

They will also wipe your device clear. Only stuff stored on the SD card will survive that.

But a wipded device is better than no device.

I already mentioned, my device is NOT connecting to the computer, how do I wipe then?

Mine is sometimes a bit sticky when starting up. I found I had to get the timing right when releasing the power button. To turn on the phone hold down the power button, after 10 seconds or so you'll see the red light flash on then go off again. Just after the light goes out 1-2 seconds later release the power button, hopefully it will now boot.

If you can't get it to do anything, which is what happened to me when I first got the phone, you could try reloading the OS via a computer. This will wipe all your data so do it as a last resort. Interestingly the procedure to power/boot my phone became a lot more reliable with the newer OS updates.

You can try and autoloader a handful of times. I'm not sure what the two led pattern means offhand. Just open it up and keep hitting the power button on the phone until hopefully something works.

Leaving the battery out, connect it to a PC and see if Link detects it. If it does, try doing a factory reset, using th e Reload device software option.

If link does NOT see it even with the battery out, u really need that warranty.

if the red led always blinking every time when you plug the battery, then your phone is hardware issue, it is dead.

my wife z10's like that, and send it to blackberry and waiting for replacement, have 1 year warranty.

if not: take off the battery, connect z10 to computer, flash new os with autoloader.

If you have a charger that have a higher power output than the standard one, that might help. If not, try a new battery. If the new battery doesn't work, well then, you have no other option. Send it my way, I'd like to see it for myself. Good Luck.

One more idea kind of mentioned above. If you have any signs of life - blinking led for instance, download an Autoloader for any OS that matches your device. Either official or leak (found in the OS subforum here - the devices while all z10's have models for different areas of the world).

Run the Autoloader. It will say something about bootrom. Plug in the USB or unplug and plug it in again (maybe you'll hear the usb bong sound). Wait and see if the Autoloader starts running - it might take 5 minutes.

    Good luck.

You could try giving BlackBerry a call. They may be able to help, warranty it not.
