I've had another problem which I think is linked to this problem - it won't recognise a line cable or earphones in the audio jack. Now my power button even when I hold it down to get the three options of shut down, lock or restart. To restart I have to use the volume rockers along with the power button. I really don't want to send it off for repair as anyone who has done with O2 in the UK will know so what can I do?

I've restarted it many times but it still hasn't fixed. As I previously mentioned I had to restart it using the power button and volume rockers combination as a push of the power button alone isn't understood by my device.

Sounds like something at the top edge of your phone might have gotten broken, out of sorts!

I've never even dropped my phone that it'd get this bad. The earpiece still works so I've not hurt it too much. I suppose I'll have to call the 'experts' at O2. Wish me luck guys!

I thought the problem might have had something to do with the old OS which is why I've spent the last two days updating it to Z10STL100-2/10.2.1.3175 from the previous one (I can't remember the OS number for it). It wasn't however the line-out problem's been fixed which I'm happy about. I just hope it stays fixed and eventually teaches my lock button to work!
