Where can I buy a new z10 for wind mobile in Canada? I am buying this for my uncle. He prefers a small size phone so I think z10 would be best choice for him. For wind mobile, I am looking for STA 100-5. Thank you.

    you mean the STL100-3. STA100-5 is a Z30.

Have you checked ShopBlackBerry.com? I believe they have a Canadian storefront too.

Thanks I checked on the website. It is for GSM carriers only, not AWS carriers like wind mobile.

Uh... the 100-3 Z10 should work just fine. Wind is a GSM carrier.

    Stl100-3 Z10
    Sta100-5 Z30

Those are the ones that work, I've owned them both.

They also happen to be the models that are sold in all carriers in Canada.

    And Shop BlackBerry Canada.

You're fine if you just go on Kijiji and attempt to get on there.

STL100-3 is what WIND customers have. It's what all Canadians, and non-CDMA Americans have as well.

There is no "GSM only" Z10. This is not 2003

Pick up any GSM Blackberry, even Rogers is fine. Just make sure the model is STL100-3 which most of them are.

There are two versions of the North American Z10 STL-100-3 (RFK121LW & RFF91LW).

The RFK121LW model is for Wind (it has the 1700MHz band).

A buddy at my office has the RFF91W model and is using it on Wind and he loses signal very often at the office.

The two versions, in reality are interchangeable. Just the fact that your friend can connect to the Wind network with a 91LW proves this. Wind does not have a legacy GSM network, so the only network they have (and he's connecting to) is UMTS 1700. Coverage must not be good around the office.

Best buy and future shop have Telus locked Z10's for $199. Just got to get it unlocked but it's able to work with wind.
