Hot spot only works with your wireless network... I bought this dlink share port mobile companion (dir-505) and it has an option for repeating the wifi signal. Worked great but I don't need it anymore... if you want I'll sell it to you. I moved my router and I have a better signal in my house so I don't need it anymore

    It's going for like 30$...
But for the z10 it would be a battery killer

I've got a wireless drink router. Are they all capable of relaying the signal from another wireless router ?

Unfortunately not... there are some older ones that you can install a third party firmware which allows for repeater mode.. the firmware is made by dd-wrt.. visit their website and see which are compatible - I have a dir-655 but the revision I have is not supported

Back when I had my 9800 I read on Crackberry that buy turning off cell network and connecting the phone itself only with WiFi you can use the phone as a repeater. I did try this with my PlayBook back before bridge was available and It did in fact work...before I wasn't able to get any signal in my back yard but putting my 9800 on WiFi only and leaving it at the edge of WiFi signal I was able to use my PlayBook in my backyard...worth a try on the z10.
