    My new at&t z10 is stuck in store demo mode. I can not do anything like connect to wifi. Every time it asks me for some demo password or retailer password. I thought I could change that from setting but still no luck. I can't even get to open the settings.
    I did quick research and came across "instoredemo" as default password but it did't do any good.
    On the other hand I bought it from craigslist. I was very happy to see new z10 on a cheap price. But now I am thinking if I am screwed.
    yeah if you guys could go ahead and help me with this,
    that'd be great.

    Did you try connecting to a computer and reloading o's?.....why didn't you turn it on if you bought om craigslist

    That was really stupid thing to do actually not to look more carefully.I was probably too excited that I was finally upgrading from curve I have I have had for the last two years.
    But I downloaded Blackberry link . But I can't figure out what to do.

    You may end up with a bad esn blocked by the place it may have been stolen from, it may take a couple weeks. If that happens you're screwed. I suggest you try to get your $$$ back...

    If it asks for a password to access settings then it could've been a retail demo model.

    I had the same issue with a Z30 I purchased from ebay (new, unused). I couldn't do a security wipe due to the fact "settings" was locked by a password that I did not know what it was. I could however download Blackberry Link onto my Mac, and then do a security wipe via USB link, and this solved the problem. When I restarted the demo mode was gone for good and phone is working fine!

    Be aware that if it's stolen in a couple of weeks it will probably get pin blocked -- there's no way around that one.

    I'd find the seller and get your money back as it's odds-on the device is hot.

    If it ask for password put 111111, I believe that is the default password. It may let you into the settings to get it out of demo mode...worth a try.
