Does it really matter what version you are using to get the latest updates...If it is I am returning my St 100-1 to get later version.

For official release, yes as well. So far, for 10.0.XX.XXX, STL100-2,3 have received more frequent updates than STL100-1.

After all, STL100-2,3 have, by far, the largest market share, (Canada, US, and Europe,) so will see more frequent updates. Not to mention, STL100-2,3 have faster processor. If your network supports either of STL100-2 and STL100-3, and if you have the option to change it, you should go for STL100-2,3.

Not wanting to hijack this thread; however, on a similar topic - are certain US carriers offering certain models? I'm on the outside looking in & currently on the Verizon network. Say, to get a model STL100-3, do I need to switch to AT&T or T-Mobile? Just asking... Thanks!

Verizon and other CDMA carriers have the STL100-4, whereas the other North American GSM carriers have the STL100-3.
