    Now I have no idea did the stupid lube thing cause the problems:

    Z10 turns itself on right after I put the battery in;

    The icon "SIM Services" appears on my desktop every time after restating, but I moved it to some other folder before. I don't restart the phone very often so I cannot remember what happened last time I restarted it.

    Do you know if it penetrated the insides? (no pun intended but intended) Camera area seems to be sealed pretty tight.

    Might as well clean it and throw it in rice for now. Certainly can't hurt.
    Lol

    If that is the Bell Sim Services app, it always removes itself from its folder upon reboot. It's not the lube doing that.

    I don't think rice will help, neither will more lubricant... I highly doubt it is ever going to fit.

    sorry, couldn't resist that one. Try MEK if you can find some...methyl ethyl keytone, it cleans and leaves absolutely NO residue behind. Used in aerospace applications. Commercial cleaner. Cleans and eats itself. (seriously)

    That is seriously bad advice for cleaning plastic components. MEK is a very close relative of acetone and we all know how that attacks many plastics. There is a very high probability it will damage at least the surface of at least the screen and camera/flash.

    Wipe it up, and toss it in the fridge inside an open container with some silica packets (if you don't have kids around). If you have kids put it in a container with some silica packets somewhere they can't get to.
