    Hi guys

So I did the most stupid thing in the world. I had a nano sim that I used in the past when traveling to Europe and because it won't fit the Z10 I bought an adapter. Well guess what, I broke 1 pin from the sim card tray and when I got back to the states my Verizon 4g sim card wouldn't work anymore, the phone doesn't read any sim card at all .

I tried a couple of local phone repair shops and nobody can replace the sim card tray.

Anybody can recommend me a repair shop that can change my sim card slot? In the past there were 1000 repair shops online that fixed blackberries for a fee

I am an *****. Brand new 600$ phone, paid full price for it and it's paperweight now

WARNING TO ALL USERS COMING TO Z10 OR Q10 FROM AN IPHONE 5 OR ANY PHONE USING A NANO SIM

DO NOT USE A NANO SIM TO MICRO SIM ADAPTER !!!

GO TO YOUR CARRIER AND GET A NEW SIM CARD FOR THE Z10/Q10

THE SIM CARD ADAPTER WILL BREAK YOUR SIM CARD READER CONTACTS AND YOUR PHONE WILL BE USELESS

I already talked to that guy, he is located in Windsor, Ontario Canada. Good news is that he can replace it and that I live in Michigan, 10 min from him. Bad news is that there are no replacement sim card readers anywhere. There are at least 20 websites that sell them and all are out of stock. One ******* from UK has em in stock and he wants on Ebay 103$ for it. He even honestly brags about the fact that he is the only one that has it in stock and he can charge as much as he wants for it lol. For regular phones, a sim card reader replacement is around 5$ on Ebay or 25-45$ at the repair shop. I ain't paying that ***** 103$ just for the part. A broken Z10 on ebay is around 250$, WTF?

Well, what do you know, the 21st website has the sim card tray in stock :

SIM Holder Contact for BlackBerry Q10/Z10 - Parts4repair.Com

I bought one but I have a weird feeling that tomorrow they will tell me that they are out of stock.

    We'll see

I have same problem too. The warranty from official blackberry store here in Indonesia is voided because the needle in sim tray broke. It's a bit unfair, I have to change the whole motherboard for 80% value from new handset price. Please is there anybody who can give us a solution?? Does crackberry sell sim card tray / socket??

OK, I just came back from my vacation in Europe. Romania to be precise. I entered the first cell phone repair shop I found, I told the guy about my problem and in 1 min he soldered another pin inside the sim card reader without even opening the phone. Everything works now, my Z10 reads any sim card I put in. And he charged me 2$ lol, I gave him a 10$ tip. So, it is possible to fix this, just find a guy who knows how to solder and you are fine

I got mine fixed from local repair shop for USD 45. It was so high coz spare part is hard to find. Even blackberry official store didn't have it and need to change the whole main board for 1/3 of phone price. Damn, they're making phones harder to fix now

You should read this thread more carefully. I posted here, read it above, the sim card tray is 25$ on ebay, shipping forth and back to the guy in Windsor Canada, 20$, his fee to replace it it's 50$. You do the math how much cheaper than 450$ is that. Sorry for your loss. Btw, a used z10 on ebay it's less than 200$ nowadays

My bad bro, i meant USD$45 for fixing my Z10 lol. And FYI shipping things from US to my country Indonesia is frustrating. Shipping cost is high and a 50 50 chance it got lost in local post mail
