Like the title states my z10 refuses to connect unless I am in usb mass mode. I turn it off and it's like my phone doesn't even exist. I reinstalled the link app and I noticed the smart phone driver didn't install...b does anybody have any suggestions.

I don't own a Z10 so I can't say yay or nay with any certainty. However, I do have a Bold 9930 and when plugging it in to my computer, I'm presented with the options "USB Mass Storage", "Sync", and "Charge Only". If I select USB, it mounts like a regular USB drive; if I select Charge Only nothing happens except that my Bold starts charging, same thing if it's off.

See if windows has an update for usb drivers or the manufacturer of the pc.

    It's seems a driver issue.

Also, try the Snipping Tool for screenshots (built in). Allows fullscreen/desktop, window only, and free area select.

Quickly poking around the interwebz I noticed a few posts where there was difficulty getting the built-in memory to access like USB, no issues with the SD cards. That apply to you as well?

Try a battery pull, um, I mean, rebooting your computer? Or did you try using a different USB port?
I sometimes have to do this when I plug in other USB devices.

Hit Start, type in Search: Device Manager. Should be the first selection. When that's open, look for anything like what's showing in the photo below. Right-click and uninstall any, then reboot. Once you're back at the desktop, plug in your Z10 and see if it properly reinstalls your drivers.

I had the same issue early on.

Turns out it was AVG's firewall that was the culprit. I disable the firewall and Bam! The volumes where mounted over wifi.

I am guessing it was an OS issue since everything is working fine since I reloaded my OS
