I have heard (and don't quote me as the source) that the name Z10 is a sub-name for the full name of the the device. Its short for "Zeus". or Z10. Is this true? The "Z" moniker stand for "Zeus" and the "10" stand for the OS. True? That's Ballsy.;)

It's the Code Name like Bold, Torch, Curve are Code Names...
Ok. Got it. But could this be the "Zeus" Line? The top of the line for all BB10 devices? A new Code Name. Zeus is the top dog in Greek mythology.
There was an article on here a few weeks ago. The the Z was to be pronounced Zed. That was from Kevin I believe. The qwerty one will be X10. They
They ..... then you went blank, you ok, not driving and typing? Scuebydue come in ... ;)
Ha! I have no idea what happened there. No driving. Sitting at a desk. Don't think the "THEY" was to be there. But before that I had "The the Z"
I'm still hoping for BlackBerry London. I refuse to call it anything else until I hear something better.
I like the name Zeus; it certainly would make a lot of sense and it would definately peak people's curiosity on the name alone.
There are people who still call a Tour the Niagara, the 9700 an Onyx, and a 9900/30 a Montana. So no, you're good.
So z10 is going to be the numerical name like 9900 but the question is what the product name will be called. will they continue with the "bold" name or will they come up with something new? If they continue with the "bold" naming scheme, it doesn't scream NEW but it is highly recognizable. I think they will probably temproarily retire the BOLD name and resurect it in the near future for their next generation of phones to build up hype. To be honest, the current BB10 lineup doesn't jump out at me as "high-end" but it does look like a premium phone. When they do get around to their next set of phones, bringing sexy back with a high-end device with the bold name would be perfect.
my suggestion.

purely based off the keyboard.

really? I haven't heard anyone call the BB phones by their code names...
i have but only for some phones like the 8900 Javelin (jav) and the 9700 onyx
Yup, definitely heard of the 8900 Javelin a lot when I was trying to look for info and buy my phone.
BlackBerry Slate
they shouldve left the name as L-series. maybe like L-10 or L-1 signifying L series and the 1 for the first bb10 phone.
hmmm,,, i think i'm w/ ya there,,, Z10=ZEUS,,, X10=XANADU,,, A10=ARIES,,, feel free to give me a call Rim, i'll be here all week...;)
HP already had a "slate" tablet.
I really liked London. I was disappointed when I learned they were calling it the Z10. Zeus would be pretty cool too.
But if the Z in Z10 stands for Zeus, then what would the X in X10 stand for? Xenos?
ummm,,, read the post above you...
BB Gladiator
I would like better BlackBerry 10 L-Series Z-10 if the last part has to stay...
What if RIM held a twitter campaign asking the crackberry faithful to name the newly launched Z10 on Jan 30. Sound interesting?

I disagree I think Bold will go to the X-10 While the Z-10 will get something new.So z10 is going to be the numerical name like 9900 but the question is what the product name will be called. will they continue with the "bold" name or will they come up with something new? Kevin is Canadian, he can't be trusted regarding the letter z. Don't they know it's supposed to rhyme??? A B C D...X Y Z, NOW I KNOW MY ABC's NEXT TIME WON'T YOU SING WITH ME.
Try that with "zed"!

I'm Canadian and have always pronounced it "zed" but after reading your ABC rhyme explanation, by golly, you're right! I'll have to change my ways eh?
