I recently got a new one from WalMart online purchase for about half off the regular MSRP price, plus free shipping to the local store pickup (NOTE: I do not work for WalMart or have written a review for them). It doesn't feel any bulkier than the Defender I've been using with my iPhone 4 for the past 2 1/2 years, granted the Z10 is a little taller. Yes, the swipe up sometimes is problematic and I have to do it twice to get it respond, but for me the excellent device protection the case provides supersedes the random swipe up miss. Plus, when I pick up the Z10 now when the screen is not locked, I'm not accidentally touching the phone icon and then having to close the phone app.

Since wear a suit and want to carry your smartphone in the inner pocket the BlackBerry Z10 was probably not the best device in terms of weight. You'll discover the BlackBerry Z10 will push your suit jacket outwards. As for the OtterBox Defender it adds bulk to the smartphone and the bezel swipe gestures become difficult.

I disagree.. I've carried both my Z30 and my wife's Z10 in my inner jacket pocket and you couldn't tell I was carrying anything (mine caseless for now, the Z10 in the BBRY leather pocket). The only time you could really see much of anything was when I had them both in the same pocket at the same time.

I've heard and read several complaints about the OB on the Z10 in terms of it getting i nthe way of gestures and my cousin still managed to crack his screen even wit the OB on but he still swears buy it (he also works outside in all 4 seasons in rough situations.

When did u email them? Would be nice if they exchanged my current one for a functional one

    ? AT&T Z10 STL100-3/10.2.0.1791 ?
Last week, the response from them came on Friday December 20th. So I'm sure it is going to be awhile.

    I ordered this one: Amazon.com: Ballistic SG1097-M185 SG Case for BlackBerry Z10 - 1 Pack - Retail Packaging - Charcoal/White: Cell Phones & Accessories

It's the ballistic one. I use the same one for the playbook as well. Let's see how it is. I didnt spend much on it so I wouldnt mind spending my money on another one.

    Poetic Atmosphere case is awesome!

Not as much protection as an Otterbox, but doesn't add much bulk to the Z10.

It'll take moderate abuse and keep your Z10 safe.

I like my Seidio Surface. Good and secure protection. If you need more, buy the convert add on.

I agree with you 100%. Sometimes takes an extra swipe, but the protection is well worth it. Plus, I have large hands and the rubberized outer surface feels really great and secure when I hold it.

The Otterbox for the Z10 sucks big time, unless you cut it up/modify it then it's ok. First is the lower bezel, almost all of it is covered making swipes difficult, then there is the side bezels again a pain in the ***. Lastly is the screen cover, it leaves a space between the screen cover and the Z10's screen allowing dirt and dust in between scratching your Z10 screen. Also all of the BlackBerry branding is covered.

I recommend the Transform case, especially if you wear a suit.

I currently have it also and have no issues using swipe gestures. What I would change is the cut out up top which allows partials to get trapped underneath. Brent, using the defender and the extra protective film under,is the screen still responsive to the touch?

    Absolutely!

Everyone has an opinion and their entitled to it. I like Otterbox for the protection factor and yes, I am a suit wearer. The last two weekends I rocked my Z10 with one of my tuxes and a lot of people were very curious about my phone! Shaken not stirred!!!

Probably wondering what phone your carrying in a bulky case....

I suggest that you go with the Incipio Ovrlrd. I've tried 5 different cases and this one is probably the most practical for everyday use. Not much bulk, and plenty of protection.

I rock the smaller case that you can get at a mall kiosk or in crackberry.com for when I am at home or out with friends. I also have the holster that I wear to work (business attire). I like it that everybody knows that I'm rocking a BlackBerry when I have the holster in my belt. Just looks classy and professional.
