Had been hearing speculations on the date of the 10.2 to go official, some days in October.
And I am well aware of the new features in 10.2, yet, the crucial one that I'm more anxious to know is the battery.

Is 10.2 even more battery power optimized than the 10.1 MR? Z10 is a beast, if the battery can last slightly longer time, currently have about 8 hours, light-medium usage.

Anyone on 10.2 leak can confirm this?

yeah i would say 10.2 is equal if not better than 10.1 but you should be getting more than 8 hours with light to medium use

duhhh, is there problem with my battery?
I check my battery with the app 'Device Suite Free' and it says my battery health OK and battery cycle count '50'.

So 10.2 is better than 10.2 in terms of battery?

I can get about 12 to 14 hours of battery life with moderate usage. I'm on 10.1.

Not if your in low reception area. Mine will cook through a charge in three hours when I'm at locations with little to no service and it's just sitting there not doing anything.

With The z30s new antenna I'm very interested in to try it and see if it's good in low reception areas

My battery life improved after I started using 10.2 leaks. It was ok with 10.1 as well. Fortunately, not like some of the poor battery life a few experience.
My 'phone day' typically begins at 7am and ends at 11pm.
I use it for work. From 8 to 5 it's basically sitting on my desk. I am on it for about 30 minutes solid at lunch. I make/take about 10 brief calls per day, 50 to 100 emails, texts and BBM.
After dinner, it is in full use for a few hours.
As of this post, 15 hours into the 'phones day', the battery is at 31%. Not too bad IMO.
I am always in an LTE area or on Wi-Fi.

A lot of people are saying that battery life is better on the 10.2 system. That's what I've been hearing in the foruma.

With the same apps and usage pattern, I definitely have been getting better battery life from most 10.2 leaks over 10.1. Part of that is due to the fact that I'm getting a much better LTE lock with the 10.2 radios.

I do not see much difference in battery life but those android apps! They run so beautifully on 10.2. Experience is so much better

Battery life and optimized Android runtime are the 2 key factors why I have 10.2.1.xxxx.
But for sure the battery is unbelievably fantastic. My battery will easily last all day on moderate use (18+ hours) and on heavy use (sending emails and texts consistently, and calling a few times an hour) I can confidently say it lasts 10 hours for me.
However, each phone reacts differently based on your settings, individual app useage, and what "heavy" and "moderate" mean to you. But I will say this, it is a much needed improvement for battery life over 10.1.

It's not worse. I'm still trying to compensate with it. Compared to iOS 6 to 7 it's nothing that dramatic. Heard people with iOS 7 have complained with sudden drains too.

1 - when I need my z10 to last 14 hrs, I turn the screen brightness right down.

2- I turn off ltz and go 3g only

3- to get to my 12-15hrs, I turned off "gestures when locked"

4- I also limit my time reading on crackberry. The screen takes most the battery, if it's phone calls all day with a dim screen you should be getting 12 -14 hrs no problem

Infact it's 9:15am right now, I took my phone off the car charger at 4pm yesterday on my drive home. I still have 25% battery. That's a whopping 17 hrs, with about an hour of crackberry, 2 hrs of reddit and 30 minutes chive, and an hour on phone calls
