Just completed a week on a DTEK50 android device. So inexpressibly glad to have my Z10 back. Sure, the DTEK was fast, versatile. But so tediously toyland, so grossly adorned and yet boringly banal. The Z10 possesses elegance, precision and of course its matchless beautifully sparse and sophisticated BB10 operation.
If only it had the Passport's capacity and hard glass screen it would be PERFECT. Without them it's still Just The Best.

I was contemplating whether i needed a DTEK50 in my life. Been reading searching reviews, and then this.

Now as an also Z10 user, i think you just made up my mind for me.

    Thank you,
    DTEK50 un-needed.

The problem is that the old ones don't break, and no new users want one.

But mine isn't going on the market anytime soon, so that's good for your resale value!

This love letter to the Z10 has inspired me to power my unit up as I haven't touched it in like 5 years. Let's see if it conjures up the feels for me as well.

As for the DTEK50, forgettable IMO. Both the 50 and 60 sit in my BB collection as weirdo anomalies. Although to be fair, the 60 was a pretty good performing device and was the last device I was using before the KEYone came out.

Is this a thread from 2016?

Take $350 - get a Nokia 7.2, Samsung A70, or Pixel 3a, and try again.

OK, after charging up the battery, I'm now typing this post on my Z10.

Boy does this take me back to 2013! Specifically after 10.2 was released, not the hobbled version of BB10 that first launched.

The BB10 vkb still rocks! So much smoother than the android version and I can definitely type faster and more accurately on it.

Props to you bb10adopter for still rocking the z10 after all these years. I wish I could do the same.

The Z10 still sits at my bedside on a charging dock, acting as alarm clock and podcast player. Yes the VKB had just the right dimensions and functionality for the time.

Actually I think BBadopter has fooled us all. How can you use any phone to run your business if you spend your whole day writing sermons on Crackberry... lol hugs and kisses ;-)

I have a 6.1 around here, but I like the spec/price ratio of the 7.2.

Agree, very pleased one month in and a couple of hundred $$ less than a OnePlus. Also pleased to hear that Bell is partnering with Nokia (HMD) for some 5g integration in Canada.

LOL. And consider that the stuff I write on these boards is a small fraction of my daily mobile work! I handle about 95% of my email and 50% of my other writing on my phone. I spend less than an hour a day with the CB app open!

After 16 years on BlackBerry phones, I actually write much better on my handheld than I do on my PC. It's a more focused experience that I really wish I could replicate on Android or iOS!

Haha, yes this is true for me too about typing on BB. Some colleagues have commented that it is odd that I can have the work laptop open right in front of me and I'm typing email furiously on the Passport keyboard with left index finger and right thumb.

Or save the $350 and use the already paid for Z10.....or Dtek.

Kidding... I was kidding.... the Nokia is probably a great phone.

Yeah, either Nokia or a Pixel will probably be my next phone. Camera quality and poor update rollouts have soured me on LG.

In the case of my Z10 I have an SD Card that has almost 2000 podcasts downloaded and of which I listen to one episode each night at bedtime, not connected to the interweb and the cloud.

So I'm good for another 5 years to listen to all of the podcasts, or simply move the SD card to another phone should my Z10 fail.
