Both face up and face down my phone is perfectly flat. Are you guys sure the surfaces you're putting your phone down are perfectly flat? Perhaps grab yourselves a level and check that out.

People probably just don't care; that doesn't make them "nuts".

Mine was too flat, so I bent it a little so it would be more ergonomic

No, the back is not flat.. the BlackBerry logo protrudes.. thus it will rock in any direction.
Now that the mystery is solved, can someone please lock this thread!

My hand isn't flat, and my Z10 is always in my hand...so who really cares? Perfectly flat phones are important if they sit on the table while you use your laptop or landline because your smartphone doesn't quite do the job!

It could be that the spring loaded NFC contacts are pushing out the backplate a little which may be causing your problem

I can rock mine side to side very slightly. I am guessing it is because the silver BlackBerry logo is slightly raised.

I noticed when putting my z10 on a flat surface, and then touching the top right and bottom left of the phone, in has a slight movement to it. Is it just me? I realize the camera lens and flash are in the right corner, any thoughts? Ive used many surfaces if you're wondering

Oh no, mine's not flat either...it's OK on the front but rocks on the back, after some experimentation I found if I removed the battery and re-fit the cover it sits OK

You keep posting that video, but it's as if you haven't even watched it yourself. The front of the Z10 Isn't designed to be flat, but no one here is saying it is. Everyone is taking about the back of the device, which IS supposed to be flat. So saying the front of the device isn't supposed to be flat makes no difference in a discussion about the back of the device.

Either way, it's a bit of a daft thread, although the OP does have a point, I just don't think it's anything to worry about.
