I started to have the problem just since yesterday.

I do have the memory card in place. When I play a music file from the file manager it just runs fine. But when I open the music player aka gallery, it says, there was a problem and they couldn't find music files.
And asked me to reset the device if problem persisted. But resetting the device too didn't work.

It's the same for all - picture, video and music gallery.
Newly clicked camera pictures also don't appear in the photo galley.
Adobe reader has started to crash on booting the app.

When I checked to confirm if card is in place, phone does detect the memory card and device memory being in use, however under the breakup, it shows all the files under 'other files'.

I did download a couple of wallpaper apps that have access for shared files.
Recently, there was also an update to the binary clock app which also requested access for Shared files.

Here's the screen shot for what pops up when I open the Music gallery for the first time after device reboot.

Also the phone has gotten hot for just no apparent reason after device reboot.

What could be the reason and how do I fix it?

I was too desperate to fix it.

I removed the battery then my media card. Reinserted it. Started the device.

Now it does show the media from the sdcard but not from device!!
Also, when I play it, again the same thing pops up as in the pic below.

    Not good.
    Appreciate the help.

Have you thought about re -formatting tour sd card?? (after copying all your files to your pc of course). I am having a different issue but it is related to the sd card and the music player and I am thinking to reformat my card.

I usually fix this with a reboot but I shouldn't need to do this.

The issue is not only with the media card, Device memory is also bugged.

I happen to realise it's not a memory card issue, but rather a software issue and it would fix on a software re-install or an upgrade.

Though I am not yet doing it as I wanna see if BlackBerry wants to debug the cause for this issues by checking my logs. Am in touch with BlackBerry guys over twitter. Will update this post as I do something about the issue or if BlackBerry has to say anything for it.

I happened to find out what the issue was, fixed it with a Factory Restore.

I had sideloaded a Goggi Text+ Android port. That thing bugged up by creating long hierarchies of folders (upto 48) to that extent, that the length of address to access its innermost folder was just too huge.
