Z10 connected to WiFi and 2 new updates done. Phone restarted and when it boots back up the screen displays the the spinning wheel and says it is checking for updates. I've tried pulling the battery for long periods of time. I taken out the SIM card, along with the battery. Nothing I can do seems to make the phone go to another screen. Cannot get past this, very frustrated. Any help would greatly be appreciated . Thanks

How long have you let it sit while searching for updates? Try letting it continue that for at least 5 hours.

At this point you may have the OS install hosed and may need to use an OS loader on a PC (not Mac) to fix it. Search for bricked phone here on CB and see what comes up.

Why would they need an autoloader? BlackBerry Link can reload the OS.

Thank you for your support. I did install the blackberry link and followed the instructions. My install of the new OS was interrupted at 7% of the installation complete (lost internet connection). Tried to reinstall, again, had some difficulty reconnecting to the link to start the re-install. Took our battery, restarted the computer. Once I reinstalled battery, the phone began to work. The checking for software update disappeared and I was able to use the phone again.

Anyways, phone is up and running.

First time i heard normal update results to malfunction phone while interrupting while updating fixes a phone... this is something new!
