Just going through the CB blog and everything being said about the Z3 makes me wonder what will become of our dear beloved Z10 devices.
The only thing I have noticed so far that the Z10 has over the Z3 is the 4G and LTE bands which according to Mr Chen is coming in the near future.
As for we users of the STL100-1 model, does this mean that the new Z3 is better than our Z10 as it has a bigger screen display and an in built radio which we have been clamoring for.
Just my observation on what I have read so far.

Smart phones get better every day! As far as the Z 10 goes it still has years to go, it still being sold new along side the Z30. The phone IMO works great and with the ability to directly download android apps has made this phone much better.

My kids have the iPhone 5S and they tried my Z10 and they were impressed.

Smartphones are like driving a car off the lot. As soon as you do, you're losing money. All that to say a new an improved BlackBerry will be the new king on the block soon enough.

IMO, Z10 has still has 1 - 2 years before it becomes old school, or if blackberry decides to release a newer phone like z50 or something.

What I'm really saying is that the Z3 being a cheaper phone has some features that could have helped boost the Z10.
Like a longer lasting battery, a bigger screen and in built fm radio.
This kinda makes the Z10 look like the odd one when compared to other bb10 devices.

Yeah, it can be considered as old school but it's still a great device.

I love my Z10, but it would have been nice if BlackBerry had made certain that the internals were on par with the Q10, i.e. Wifi Direct and Miracast, and FM Radio. As it happened their BB10 story was fragmented from the get-go.

Also, a widely available media dock would be sweet.

Im not 100% sure on the specs of the Z3 and I could be wrong but I think the Z10 is a better quality phone in terms of hardware.

That's what I was thinking, too. The biggest tangible advantage the Z3 has (I thought) is the larger screen. As far as the Z10 becoming "old school," has that other fruity device been essentially the same since 2010? If I had my way, BlackBerry would keep the Z10 chassis and name around for the long haul and just do internal hardware upgrades each year. They need an anchor device, and the Z10 would be a perfect default device in the lineup.

Z10 has a faster processor, more RAM, more internal storage, LTE antenna (some models), removable battery (ok, debateable vs the huge built-in of the Z3) and better screen size (for me - I know a lot of you love your 65"+ phones).
Used the Z10 is still 200 bucks in Canada. Z3 will probably be 250 here (because that's just how things seem to work out).

I bought the Z10 when it came out. I'm a very heavy user and I've looked at most of the phones that have appeared since. I still consider my Z10 state of the art, and the best BlackBerry (and best mobile device) I've ever used.

Love my z10. I put a vinyl skin on my phone and people think I have a new phone. Looks that way but it still is a unique user experience that is different from the rest and keeps things fresh so I don't think it's old school just yet.

I don't care if it's getting old school. As long as it's functioning the way I want and expect it to be, I would use it. You don't need to upgrade every time a new device is released.

However the screen has a significantly lower ppi
A built in battery vs removable battery
And lower specs (1.5 gb of ram vs 2gb of ram)

It is - I already made a post on this because I got into an argument when some people said the Z3 replaces the Z10. The specs don't compare, end of.

I love my Z10, and while it sometimes stutters when I'm running it hard it performs well for me. Its odd thinking it's a year old now, but like anything in the tech world, it's always being bettered.

A new version of this phone will come. For some, the Z30 is already it, but that may well be superseded before the years out if you listen to all the speculation at the moment of a Z50 octacore phone...

The Z10 may has smaller screen, but it resolution is way higher than the Z3s and I personally like the lcd better than the amoled which I think is going to be on the Z3. The Z3 may have a way better battery, but it's not removable like the Z10s. Also the camera on the Z10s is 8 megapixles while the Z3 has 5. The Z10s processor is also better than the Z3s. I think the Z10 has a great design. The Z3 not so much.

There are probably a bunch of other things too, but my point is the Z3 isn't really comparable to the Z10 imho

I can see myself using the Z10 for at least the next three years. Best phone I've ever owned.

Plenty of apps, great keyboard, work and personal email, top notch browser, the hub, the hub, the hub!
