    Hey all,

If I keep my gps on will it eat up data in the background? I understand if it shows through data when I load up a map application, but I'm concerned it will just such background data.

    Anyone have input?

GPS is receive only. It will not transmit any data by itself. As such, it does not use bandwidth.

Uh, if you are navigating with the built-in MAPS, it requires data because (besides GPS) you need to download maps as you go. So it's using cell tower nav backed by GPS. But the maps have to come from somewhere.
