    It just happened for the first time when trying to get the free copy of whatever app Crack berry is offering. I forgot as I am not too happy right now. When I put my thumb or any part of my hand over the top of my phone it goes black and then goes back to normal if I operate below the top. A faint red light comes through also. Help??

    After a hard reset it's ok again. Any ideas why this would happen? Thanks everybody

    It sounds like something is triggering the proximity sensor to come on. Normally it'll only activate when you're talking on the phone (so you don't cheek dial).

    He was probably on the phone or he has flip to save power turned on and the phone thought it was sitting face down

    I've had this a few times lately. Typically it has corrected itself. I rarely talk on my phone and I have the flip to wake off so it's not either of those things. At first I thought it was the Pro version of PowerTools as I had many, many problems with that app but it happened after I uninstalled it also. My next guess was the app called PhoneTap (it records calls) but then it stopped happening before I really got the chance to troubleshoot it.

    Thanks everyone. I have flip to mute off. Actually none of those features work for me. Besides the point. Hopefully it will stay fixed!
