It wouldn't surprise me if it's true. They just announced 2 new devices, why hold on to the old?

Doubt it they dont have a lot of all touch devices and even z30 is not available worldwide, so they would have a problem to satisfy modern users who didnt grow old with qwerty devices I still hope they will have a new z10 this fall )

They need a new all touch phone...the z10 is already getting old....and the z30 is too big for me...an updated z10 with better specs or similar device should be on the cards soon surely

From another thread: production on Z10 already stopped.
The last Z10s and Q10s were manufactured in June of 2013, and the last Z30 around September 2013, by Jabil Curcuit, for BB. None of them are in production by any means - BB doesn't even have a contract with Jabil Circuit anymore (as of Oct 2013). The Z3 is the only device currently in production (small-scale, and by Foxconn). Of course, the "Classic" (Q20) and the Q30 have been announced for release later this year, and presumably will be manufactured by Foxconn as well.

As others have noted, the date on the box is not the manufacturing date of the device, but rather the date the device was boxed up for sale, and that is apparently done in small batches as needed, which allows updated insert materials and potentially even OS updates to be performed prior to boxing.

The Z3 has to come out with better specs if they plan on having any success in the US. love my Z10, but would mind upgrading to the Z30, just don't like the screen res. Z3 screen is better than both, but specs are not.

I wonder how many did they make then? Especially, how many z30? It was just a small production run? Maybe thats why it wasnt marketed and didnt even went global... thats sad... but still, qwerty is not the way to go, and I dont want to be forced to get ancient qwerty phone instead of new z10 or z30...

It wouldn't surprise me if it's true.... the OS developer already left 100-1, then they will left another 100 hardware version.
No fun anymore for me ... no new OS leak for my device. If I had to buy Z30 or alse, how long their life cycle since experiences with this.
Before OS 10, fun still there - life cycle still enough until we bored with the device... Now .... Iphone and Android still better to develop their OS for their customer with all variance hardware.

BlackBerry true problem are not the phones itself, but it's app ecosystem. With this new deal with amazon, maybe there's a better chance for them. The fire phone seems like a good phone and may open more doors between the both of them.

After those massive write-offs on the unsold Z10 inventory, I doubt they went back and asked for more...

Who knows about the Z30, but I imagine they never committed to a very large order to start with.

What good is a phone manufacturer if they don't have any phones that people want.. and trust me, nobody wants the "classic"... not sure what to think at this point other then my next phone this year may just be my first non BlackBerry phone

@mjdimer, No not the Z30 yet, think of it as all Thornsten Heins handset will be phased out and all John Chen handset will retain.
