The iPhone 4S is made of glass and thus the weight will give it the feeling that it is more solid. We all know glass, gravity and the ground don't mix well at times. Loved my Galaxy Note 2 and felt it had a solid feel despite the plastic and the Z10 is the same. The one standout to me is the Z10's grippy back and the knowledge that its not going to slide out of my hand. That is a solid enough reason to like the feel of the Z10 to me!!

Funny my itoy 4s from work feels just like that, a ipod touch toy for music and games. But the funny thing is i use that 4s only for work related calls and imessage texts from other work issued phones. Oh and bejeweled blitz! Other than that the z10 is used for all emails work and personal,handles the exchange account just fine. All surfing and chatting is done on the z10, and every app I need and use plus music plus videos is way better and used only on the z10.

The 4s just doesnt compare! So tell him nice try but he's so wrong!!!

The z10 is a solid built device imo... I'm waiting on a company to match or exceed the design quality of the iphone 4s. Apple hit a homerun with the 4s.

Personally I think most smartphones look decently different. In fact they look so different I can tell them apart...

The comments I got were contradictory to the one the OP got - that it's surprisingly so sleek. Invariably everyone also thought it looks like the iPhone. To which I would say - what do you expect full touchscreens to look like?

I do agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but for the last 5 years, I have run into more people who have other phones and feel the self righteous need to voice their ****ty opinions about my BlackBerry.
It boggles my mind,- not once have I ever felt the need to be ignorant enough to diss someone's phone. First of all I wasn't brought up to be rude and second I don't actually care what they use.

I agree a little. The z10 is nice looking and has a good feel but the iphone 4s is the best looking smartphone ever made.

I also agree that the 4S is a very, very, very nice device. It has a great weight to it and it just screams quality. That is not to say that the Z10 isn't also a sexy device but I would have loved for it to have the same materials. Granted the cell reception goes down but still, that is the same reason why I buy mac computers as I cannot stand the mostly cheap windows laptops nowadays. I go to Fry's and I feel dirty touching them.

The 5 on the other hand feels like it is made of pewter and that just makes me cringe. The Z10 is made of plastic, acrylic, whatever you fancy calling but it is not made of metal and not of glass. Some people like that feeling even though it comes with extra precautions.

Do not retort. Just say you prefer your device and he his. Then ask why he even feels the need to insult it if it is inferior in the first place. People rarely understand that when they insult like that it is because they, and their choices, are called into question and they don't like knowing they might have made an inferior choice. You use what works for you and he will work what's best for him. Easy peasy. Life goes on.

I had an mp3 that my daughter wanted to use as a ringtone, she has an iphone, I was stunned I couldn't send the file to her as apparently iphones don't allow bt file transfers.

Oh wait, he can't. Well, at least he has that glass back. Yep, that heavy glass back is really useful.

Funny you should ask for advice on come back. Just let him know why you choose BlackBerry over apple!
Though I must say, although the iphone is beautiful itis absolutely impractical. To protect it you need to cover it with a case anyway which sort of defeat he purpose of the beautiful surfaces don't you think? z10 it is not as cheap looking as Samsung but i've dropped it and it is 100% ok. Just using the leather cover for protection and it is more than enough.

I currently have the iPhone 5 as my daily driver and had an opportunity to play with my friend's Z10 at a dinner party. I was very impressed. It didn't feel cheap. I've owned a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, now THAT phone feels cheap and plasticky. I thought the Z10 had some good weight to it, the screen was bigger but not too obnoxious (Note 2), it was really nice. I can't wait to get mine.
