For the third time, the missus complained that her Z10 dialed another number while she was on another call. I have not confirmed this personally as I have not used her phone to call.

Has anybody experienced this? This is a TMO US Z10, with .85, the latest and only update released by TMO to my knowledge.

I have never experienced this issue. The sensor works great for me.

It looks like this is unique to my wife's z10 as this seems not to have been discussed in this forum yet. This happened again tonight when she was talking on the phone and suddenly, the phone dialed my number. I don't know what she is doing with her phone....I have yet to duplicate this incident to confirm that it is a face dialing issue just like with the 9900 especially on .794.

The screen goes black due to the proximity sensor though. And I have not experienced this.

Hasn't happened to me. Does she hold the phone slightly away from her face causing the sensor to reactivate the screen...allowing the phone to call another #?

Make sure the sensor is clean and see how she is holding it in relation to her face.

Maybe she is just holding it wrong. Legitimate reason. One big company has already established this precedent.

Users error or bad proximity sensor maybe.

Thanks everybody...i would have to do more research on how she uses her phone. I tried calling several times using her z10 today but the face dialing issue did not recur. Also, I noticed, that when the phone is placed on/near my face, the screen turns black, and when it is moved away from my face, the screen comes to life...so the sensor seems fine, I suppose.

Mine mutes while on calls.. its because sometimes the phone gets sticky to my ear so I pull it away millimeters but is enough for the sensor to think im not there but my cheek is in the perfect spot to hit mute

    Nothing is perfect
