One of my annoyances with all touch phones is the difficulty in ending a call.

For as good as the z10 keyboard is, it seems that the touch end key in the phone app is terrible and not so responsive.

Then I discovered that long presing the play/mute button on the side will end the call. This also works with wired headsets.

It's a small thing but it is a nice feature to know about.

wait a minute, i wonder if maybe you can answer a call with one of these buttons to help when someone cracks their glass?

Been using the long press on wired headset for a while to answer and end calls.
BUT why has the Z10 only got auto answer on Blue tooth devices? Can't wear blue tooth device with crash helmet
Blue tooth kit for helmet is 100+

And why doesn't the ring tone come through a wired headset when plugged in?

Actually, it doesn't seem to work for me without the headset plugged in.

That would be such a great feature.

That's a good question. I've noticed that too because I do believe on the legacy device you would here the phone ring while wearing the headset. Would really like to see this get fixed in the next update.

Perhaps there is a way to change the function assigned to that button in the settings.

After you filter through all the BS "I'm returning by (fill int he blank BB device)" threads, its threads like this that make me remember why I started coming here in the first place.

I love it when people post little tips or things they learned or links/articles helping (not bashing) ....Thanks OP. Cool tip. I'm going to try this on my next call.

Yeah, bummer it doesn't always work but this is still helpful since I use a headset more often than not.

Next tip is if you flip the z10 over and over in the air you can use it like a coin in a bet or game.

    BlackBerry logo is tails

So everyone with a z10 has a flip BlackBerry device too.

Why is it 3 things? Swipe up to wake up screen, then tap End Call... 2 actions.

Or more actions if you've minimized Phone app first. Is that what you meant?
Maybe I'm just missing something obvious.

On the old phones there was a setting "end call when in holster ". Does this work on the Z10? Don't see a setting like that.

why do you even have to wake it up? when you pull it from your face the screen comes back on, end button. i found that before 10.1 my end button took a few presses but not anymore.

I've actually been quite annoyed lately (maybe since having 10.1...?) that moving phone away from face hasn't woken it up.

Regardless, remember there's also BT or speakerphone calls.

This is how you CB10, son!

You can put the phone call on hold(mute) with a quick press of the physical play/pause button on the phone and headphones.

But only a long press of the physical play/pause button on the headphone will hang up a call. A long press of the physical play/pause button on the phone will not hang up a call(have no clue for this logic).

This has worked like this for me since 10.0.9 to 10.1.0.2354

In the phone app swipe down from the top for the settings, the go to holster to enable or disable taking and ending calls
