anyone found a way to have the date always displayed on the homescreen?
Looking for that myself. Looked through all the settings and cannot find anything.
You can keep the calendar app on page 1, the date shown is current...just a thought.
Cheers

You mean the first screen that you swipe up to get into the device? Or the first screen once in? Either way, on the first screen my time and date shows (although the next calendar entry used to show but hasn't done so for a couple of days) and in the first screen once in I have the calendar icon that shows the current date.
With a short swipe up I see both time and date

Is this what you mean?

Or you can swipe down from the screen to see the date.

Just press the power button once and voila.
Those are not solutions to be frank. Date and Time should always be visible on the home screen. If they don't show when inside an application, that's ok, but on the main home screen? Come on!
You can swipe into hub, there's the current date on the top left if you don't have any msgs open.

I agree that the date should be shown on the home screen. I'm surprised that this wasn't implemented with their whole "flow" philosophy.
The way I see it, you should be able to "peak" at the date by swiping up and holding. There is plenty of room to display the date right beside the time, which is already shown at the top of the home screen.
Instead, when you are in an app, you have to turn your screen off and on, or you have to minimize the app and navigate to another part of the OS (hub or app picker). Seems clumsy.
I don't quite understand why do you need to check the date that frequently, really. You see once and the date doesn't change the whole day. You don't see date on the top bar for any other phone OS too.
Date is all over the place, your watch, your computer, ur outlook, etc... I don't see any reason to get annoyed over it.

Coming from Bb7 I think it is very annoying. I also think it should always be visible. When I swipe up from any app that I'm in I should see the time and date.

+1 However customization is a BlackBerry backbone. I tried to further some excuses to support the question raised by the OP, but could not.
A swipe away sounds good to me. I can definitely deal with that. For those that can't ,you can bet a developer will build an app for you and or it could possibly become an option in a future upgrade.

Why complain here... address it directly to blackberry and they will follow through with an update

I am coming from a 9800/9810 to a z10 and I do not see a problem with it... in fact I hope they keep it away I prefer the less clutter look
What's the best way to address it with BlackBerry directly?

Facebook, Twitter, Calling them & emailing them. Many ways my friend.
Do a slow short swipe down when you're on the home screen from the top of the page and it appears before the settings etc menu comes down, continue the swipe and then the settings etc will come down. Easy. Try it.

It works best if you do the swipe from where the time is. This is what it looks like.

But sometimes I'm able to keep the date displayed but I do it by mistake and have no idea how I've done it
You don't even have to swipe. Just tap on the time, and voila.
