Has anyone tried their compass to see were magnetic north points?

What a joke mine points west. LOL My bosses points south (he's on the Robers network I am on Virgin) and I think other boss points close to were the actual magnetic north points.

I don't have a Z10 but on every phone with a compass it has to be calibrated before it will work properly, did you calibrate it?

mine works great...check out whether the interference symbol is shown below the compass circle....if shown move away from any electronics etc. that could cause interference and tilt the Z10 in all directions until the interference symbol disappears....mine shows the direction accurate and it is really cool when you hold the Z10 vertical to see the compass side view...this is a very useful feature

There is a general issue going in with sensors. There are a few threads.

There seems to be a software issue. Many people are reporting that the proximity sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and light meter stop working a few minutes after rebooting.

This disaster is on par with the global BIS/BES outage of 2011. Heads must roll.

Mine works fine. If you select magnetic by turning location off, be sure you are not near any metal since that will throw it off, just like any other magnetic compass. Also, there is a difference between True North and Magnetic North.

Mine hasn't work correct for some time now. Even tried installing older bar files that I thought worked but still off by 90 to 180 degrees. Kind of renders a few of my apps useless now..
