I got playing with my Z10 camera which has occasionally frustrated me but I am getting good at it now. One thing I discovered was Macro mode. Take your camera and zoom in all the way and let autofocus do the rest. The results are amazing. I tried this on my brother's Nokia 810 but it did not do this, not sure about other phones, but it sure is fun. Make sure you zoom in all the way!

    Here is a flickr set:

The other feature that impressed the hell out of me was the burst mode. I took a burst shot of a giant bubble maker and you can actually see the bubble bursting in frozen frames. Really cool!

Here is the flickr set for that:

    Put it in slideshow mode.

Yep I can second that. The macro shots are pretty good on the Z10.

Yes it is just a digital zoom, but the autofocus will focus in on an object when fully zoomed and the object can be inches away from the camera and it will still focus. So a tiny ant or a bee can be focused on a blown up huge. It is loads of fun.

Oh boy, I dunno about zooming in all the way. I avoid digital zoom like the plague,

However, I have had a lot of success just cropping the pictures.

For the Macro shot, do the zoom all the way. I agree with you on regular shots I never use zoom, but try it on the macro you will see.

Never tried it, not much of a photo guru. Usually just take some shots of issues in the field for work (engineering).

Thought I'd take a couple of shots of the thumb tacks in a glass jar on my desk. Guess it's pretty good, it impresses me but not that I'd know the difference. Pretty dirty junk showing up on the thumb tacks. Can't even see the rust in the pin part with by eye just looking at it normal.
***EDIT***: Taken through the dirty glass jar / formerly a candle

What is interesting with this phone is to put a high quality Class 10 SD card for added memory. I put in a 16 GB Class 10 Kingston card. This was not cheap. I set the camera to save the pictures to the new very fast card. The camera response is very fast with this card. I have been taking incredible pictures with my Z10.

The closeup mode (macro) is very helpful for photographing documents, model and serial number tags of equipment, small items such as jewelry for insurance policies, and etc. The closeup mode is a big plus for when using bar code software. I can take bar code readings and save them.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I have a Q10 and have been irritated that I cannot do manual focus or macro focus l(ike the old Blackberrys did) for the many shots I like taking of super up close text like serial numbers and the like. Your "zoom in all the way" is an awesome find. And was really hard to find doing a google search for "manual focus" or "macro mode".

It's such a cool feature, and no doubt designed that way, that I cannot believe BB doesn't promote that. Thanks again!
