When battery is at 20% or less, I cannot be on a call without the screen being stuck on black entirely, regardless of how close or far my head is from the speaker. As soon as I pickup an incoming call or dial an outgoing call, the screen IMMEDIATELY goes black across every phone application --- every VoIP app, the mobile dialer, etc and stays that way. I can swipe up to get a little black mini of it and the rest of the screen works fine, but can't see call time etc, nothing when zoomed in.

However after getting up to 60% battery, I notice the proximity sensor behaves itself, I pull my ear away from phone and it lights back up about instantly. What the heck?

    Bueller?

Please tell me someone else notices this behavior. The proximity sensor requires a certain battery % to function optimally or what?

My phones at 15% right now, I just called my iphone and didn't encounter the problem you describe. Maybe try restarting the phone or reloading the os.
