does anyone know what bluetooth chip (i.e. brand and model) we have in the z10?

I have a bluetooth 2.0 receiver in my car, and when i pair my z10 with it, the sound quality is quite dreadful. compared it with my iphone 4, and i noticed the difference in sound quality immediately. I think it's because of the low energy protocol in z10 and wanted to know if the bluetooth chip in z10 supports only low energy or is backward compatible with older non LE protocols.

I'm pretty sure it's 4.0 not sure about the branding though. What car do you have? I presume you're in the US? If not you wouldn't happen to have a Peugeot?

I know z10's use bluetooth 4.0 standard. bluetooth implemented low energy protocol starting 4.0. I just need to know what bluetooth chip my z10 has inside so i can contact bluetooth chip manufacturer and determine if it is LE-only or backwards compatible. Unless someone here can tell me outright. I have a toyota but it really doesn't matter what brand of car, the problem lies in bluetooth communication between z10 and the receiver

So the Z10 is using a lower energy BT chip than older BlackBerry phones... I have the same problem with music streaming on my Zed10, the quality is dreadful unless you are incredibly close to the wireless speaker which to me defeats the purpose. My 9780 I could be across the house and no distortion while still using full controls.
