sigh... i use BB maps all the time.

Just updated the app ot 10.1.0.790 and I get a white screen of death on the main page. Is anyone else experiencing this phenomena? On the Rogers network... tried a restart... no luck... then tried a battery pull... still no luck.

And since it's one of the main apps on BB z10 I can't delete it and try to reinstall it. Any help would be appreciated.

It's a main BB app... you can't uninstall it unfortunately.

Typical blackberry. It's no wonder they are the way they are. I have the same white screen with the new maps update. My phone re-boots 2 times a day, I get calls from my contacts which don't match the name with the number. If this keeps up, they won't be around much longer. I have been a huge blackberry fan....but this tops the cake


I have a pure lemon that won't get replaced from Fido because of the crappy service they offer.

What to do......

Well. Glad it works for folks here.

So the saga continues... hooked up to Link 1.1, backed up my files - decided to restore the OS all seemed to be going fine then Link seemed to disconnect my phone and all I am getting is a swirling blue circle of blue on my phone and a white icon. Link won't even connect or recognize the phone now.

Great. No problems since February RE: reboots, battery, and backups etc etc till now... phone is now bricked. holy cr@p.

BB site is absolutely no help. I am really frustrated, nor a happy camper. Really don't know what to do now. Going to bed po'd.

I was tempted to ask if it was snow, but you're going into summer. :-) My update (through Telstra Australia) today is exhibiting a white screen for one second, then all good. This is identical behaviour to its predecessor. Ross

Just give us Google maps. On my iPhone I used the nav in Google maps and it was as good if not better then my oem 2013 vw unit. Even apple knew when to give up on maps and told users to use better options until they got their act together.

Good news folks.
Decided to give it one more try - powered down and pulled battery. Reinserted and given a nice white icon - usb connect to pc. Started Link again and reconnected phone... recognized it finally and connected. 10.1 reinstalled now and the nice pinch to zoom tip for the map worked.
Thank you all for listening and your support. All in all a strange night of odd BB Z10 behaviour, but it was a great positive to get your thoughts and help.

Actually, BB maps worked/works very well. It was the update and the odd white screen that I got and others too, which is now solved (thanks to ShinyDimples tip) that had me frustrated. I still use google maps also... so it's not all-in for one maps app for me. Both have their pros and cons.

BB did not create its map app from 'scratch' like Apple attempted, but uses TomTom data, I believe and their map info works fine.

Can anyone explain to me why there is missing completely Eastern Europe? (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland...etc). Hey BlackBerry ...this is a huge fail, we are in a middle of 2013!!!! Will this be fixed in next update, f i n a l l y? Thanks!

The map does what it needed to do. Takes you to point A to point B. The only thing I wish they add on is a satellite view. Where you can see the actually roads, buildings, etc...i think it's called the satellite view
