@Bold: 3.5 hours sounds about right for me with heavy use. Before this leak, my battery was only that bad if I was playing a bunch of games. I have plenty of time to charge the phone at work though. I'll have to see if this new battery life becomes an issue when I'm out and about.

    Hi,

One of the most power consuming parts is the display so I changed the display to sleep after 30 seconds and have a low back light.
Additionally switch of the swipe to start feature of, because this feature needs the touch sensor switched on the whole time and so the z needs more power.
Additionally I had problems with leaks when I restore the settings. Because the old accounts have an other way to contact the server (LOT Bugfixes in this sector). This let to high battery usage for me.
And at the End this leak has been the first for me with an extremely long settle time! Other leaks worked from the start good battery timings.....
But this one needed more than one week to sette!
So at the end my Battery for 48 h with medium to heavy usage:Attachment 224645
How do you switch off the swipe? Is it only available on 10.2.1 or also 10.2.0? And where? Thanks!

How is mine? It's not the end of the day yet. And I didn't unplug the charger very early. Is this normal?

try to reduce the screen backlight.. I have a quite low, like 25% setting.. which is more than enough for me.

also, have in mind, that even you close some apps, i.e. Skype, it still work in background until you sign off. that's could be another reason.

Right. I just set mine to about 25%. Lets see if mine can at least hit 10 hours. Thanks.

FWIW, I noticed that my Z10 drains battery way faster if I download data over cellular network.
Today I browsed the BBM Channels while moving and noticed that the discharge curve was steeper compared to yesterday when I did the same on WiFi. Also, some pointed out that cellular communication might eat battery fast because device increases antenna power in low signal areas.

I guess BB realized that and invested in paratek technology (though I can't compare the difference).

For me also same problem .. i am unable to close skype .. even it is showing app is closed..
Just going to throw this out there but although in 10.2.1.1055 we have a device monitor (great, I know!!), it's not very reliable. I sometimes open up some apps like 1mobile, Skype, etc. and close them when I'm finished but they are still shown an accounted for in the device monitor (eating up a lot if the battery). It would be great if we could filter it to the point where we can determine/estimate the remaining battery life more accurately.

Hi , i tried to close all apps whenever i am not using . still standby is consuming more battery drain
Your usage from 1pm to 9pm is considered heavy, from the looks of it, you have the display pretty high. Try lowering the display when you use the phone.

Also, what apps do you have running when you're not using your phone? Your standby % is higher than usual as well.

You must not use your phone much or you forget that you charge between full charges...

3 days of battery life? That's galaxy note territory

Skype may be one of the reasons to why the your battery is draining is much.

Which os are you running and how many apps did you side load onto your phone? I've heard of scenarios where side load items can drain your battery quite a Bit.

A lot of android apps are headless apps meaning the apps are still running in the background even if you close them.

Try deleting them and adding them one by one if you can. It doesn't hurt to try.

The battery has been a major disappointment I need 12 hours which I can get if I receive not too many calls or BBM's and as for the great features, I can not use them if I want to preserve the battery, the phone is great but now been demoted to being just a phone and effectively less useful than any of my previous Blackberry phones. It is not an issue of "leaks or apps" just a poor battery in my opinion, The phone has been to BB service center which had zero effect.

I haven't upgraded to 10.2 yet (hasn't been pushed out by my carrier). But I've done the following with all my phones:
Have it plugged in as much as possible.
    Have an extra battery.
If I know I'll be without power or using heavy, I also have some power sticks.
Turn off WiFi and anything else I am currently not using.
Make sure the headless apps are off. While I love BeBuzz, I keep it off most of the time.
I wasn't using the phone much yesterday, but also didn't have it charging. Only thing on in the background was Blue Tooth. We do have a repeater for my carrier in the building, so that helps. I only used 8% of battery during that time. Was receiving emails and did a few texts.

1055 is a new leak as such it's not optimized yet so battery life will suffer. I know from my experience my battery life has been cut almost in half. I have an extra battery and a 5200mah battery pack that I carry with me. It's the cost of doing business when you download leaks.

Z10 battery pack is going for 25 dollars (holiday) sale at the moment. You should take advantage of it and buy one. It will help you a lot and won't give any limitations of using your phone.

You have removable battery on z10, get a second battery or battery pack. 40 seconds and back to 100%, when I know ill be out for long I use it. It's great.

I phones barely last that long to be honest so blackberry was just trying to keep up with that I assume
