I have a Z10, Z30, Q10 and Q5. From time to time they take their turns being turned off from the fully charged state.

I've noticed that they all retain their charge very well after say 2 months except the Z10. For some reason this phone discharges way more than any of the others.

For example, after 2 months being turned off from a full charge, the 3 others will turn back on at 95%. However the Z10 will be at 10% or even fully drained by comparison after 2 months.

Same apps on all 4 devices.

    Has anyone else encountered this?

can't see how this would matter as if you wanted to actually use the Z10 you would be charging it fully anyway, right? maybe the OS is corrupted on that phone.

The z10 is known to have a weak battery and that is one of the reasons I'm not using it regularly.

I just found it interesting that it lost its charge whereas the other devices held theirs.

This made me wonder if this was a symptom of the underlying cause of the weak battery performance of the Z10.

The amount of self-discharge is generally a matter of battery chemistry and design, not size or capacity of the battery. Therefore "weak battery" - otherwise known as "small capacity in relation to typical usage drain" is not the answer.

I'd think the most likely explanation is the battery is defective or in poor condition. Brand new, original branded BlackBerry LS1 batteries for the Z10 can be obtained on Amazon for less than $10 these days, so it would be easy to try a new one and one can always use an extra backup battery.

Luckily it's a Z10 and you can actually easily replace the battery. Can't do that on a Z30 or Q5.

Also remember the Z10 is probably your oldest device with the most usage - it was released in early 2013. So it isn't too surprising that its battery condition may be the worst of those 4 devices at this point.
