I have a bass ackwards problem with my Z10. When it is running and just have the screen off, the battery will last for at least 2 days. If I turn it off and not plug it in overnight, it is dead in the morning.

Anyone think why turning off the Z10 causes it to completely drain the battery?

Maybe get a new one. Who knows. It's ancient today and quite surprising that it still holds some charge at all.

I can only think that the shutdown process isn't completing successfully, and that there is still some part of the OS running the whole time. Unfortunately you can't test this by pulling the battery and reintroducing it, as the device reboots as soon as it sees the battery go back in.

You could wait until the battery discharges completely, then plug it in until the LED goes green, then leave it powered off a few days and see if it will still boot? If it boots and there's life in the battery, then you know my theory is right (probably).

If this is the case, an autoloader should fix it.

I don't know about Z10 because I pull the battery but this is a common problem in the Passport SE. Search the forums. I don't think anyone has found a solution yet.

OP did not provide which model Z10 they have, what version OS they're running nor what troubleshooting they've done.

Before spending any money, a clean install of the OS with an autoloader should be done to eliminate software as the cause.

It ain't the battery, he says it runs fine when it's ON or standby, just not off...
