Came across this on bmobile's website:

Blackberry Z10 - bmobile. imagine Next.

The phone on a postpaid package seems reasonably priced. However, the BB10 data plans are more expensive than the regular BB plans (Blackberry Plans - bmobile. imagine Next.). Not entirely unexpected.

I am getting data on my phone now using that method, it's regular data.
The advice was given to me by other trinidadian users that have the 100-1, 100-2 and the 100-3 that couldn't get any data on their phone.

There is nothing "strange" about not getting 4G in Trinidad on a STL100-2. The chipset of the phone does not support the frequency bands of the carriers for HSPA. The only data connectivity you will get is 2G/EDGE which I assume is what you mean by "regular data".

I wonder if they will get on to me? I using the old BlackBerry 4G plan on my Z10. Way cheaper, 2gb for $175. Saw a store in the mall selling it for $4900 and advertising it as 2G only. I asked why and they said that digicel or bmobile don't currently have any plans that can support it. I showed her mine and explained it can run it, I just had to tell them what to do.

Don't think it should be a problem as long as you bought the phone yourself. I think the "BB10 4G" prices apply only if you buy the phone from bmobile. Phone companies do this to compensate for the relatively low margin on hardware. There should not be a fundamental difference between "BB 4G" and "BB10 4G". My data services work fine on the old BB 4G plan as well.

Bmobile prices are way cheaper than than digicel's. $300 -$400 difference.

I'm in the same shoes as you lol , visiting summer and i wonder if to change this bmobile sim i have although i already cut it to micro size

To me...bmobile faster but digicel has more reach island wide. you get service with them even in the forest, lol. So if you will be visiting rural parts, digicel might be best. I'm with bmobile btw.

I'll mostly be in san'do and Mt hope. What are the rates? They still don't offer unlimited minutes and texts?

Bought my z10 on Friday from b mobile. They are shelling out the Stl-100s price was a bit annoying but I wanted the warranty so far no problems. Their plans are a bit pricey also but this is what we have to deal with. Hopefully I'll sell it sometime soon for an 300 model
