Nope you wont have a problem.. that's the version i'm using. I get 4G on both digicel and bmobile! RFF91LW.

Either version of the STL100-3 should work as they have the same bands required for each network.

i'll be quite happy with EDGE service, which i still can't get... i'll probably try and get my bmobile sim changed tomorrow

The ability to edit APN settings is dependent upon the carrier and if they choose to lock this feature (tied to their sim, while in use in the device). This is the case with Canadian carriers, as they have chosen to do this. Try getting a new sim card, that should do the trick...

so i borrowed one digicel sim, and no data either....

is it that this STL100-2 is just dead in the water regarding data?

i should also note that when the digicel sim is inserted the apn changes to "bbweb" and also cannot be edited.

That's very odd... I did recall seeing "bbweb" in my Z10 as well but was able to edit this. Where did you get your 100-2 from?

To my knowledge STL100-3 is the units available in Canada, while the 100-2 is Europe based. It sounds like hit or miss with these version (ability to edit APN settings). From what i get it has to be associated with the Carrier and not a hardware issue. Hopefully when Bmobile/Digicel offcially supports the device then you shouldn't have an issue using the phone -- maybe the APNs will be automatically detected from the SIM card. I don't see any reason why it should be a problem now as well as my 100-3 unit works and someone else reported that their 100-1 unit works.

went to west mall's bmobile
in store an employee has a z10, and has the same problem

i changed the sim but no luck, still no data

if this device didnt come factory unlocked would that cause an issue? not sure if it's factory unloked though

Don't think that would make a difference (have seen many have success editing APN settings on both factory unlocked and carrier unlocked)... did the rep have an STL100-2 unit as well??. The way it should work that BBRY stated (from what i understand), the sim card forces the APN settings (most times they show up correctly but in some cases if the carrier doesn't have the proper setup/support for the device the code would not update in the field hence the editing issue.)

Most users in Canada, for example, with their carrier's sim in the device have the correct APN setting for that respective carrier, but it's greyed out and is unable to edit it. But it's not an issue as it's their carrier and they receive data. Even if they switch to another carrier the same happens....

I have read in some posts around CB that some have spoken to BBRY and they said that an update to rectify this may be out soon (I can't confirm this...only time will tell i guess)

How did you get back the 648? I have the same problem and can`t find that OS to put back on my Z10!! Please send the link! And it is true! It is something to do with the OS. Cause my Z10 was working just find on digicel 4G smart plan until i updated the phone OS to 738. that is when every thing went down hill!!!! I need to get back 648 OS! Someone PLZZZZZ send a link!!

Bear in mind that there are 2 different versions of the STL100-3, too.

One is typically sold in the USA (ie AT&T/TMobile), the other is typically sold in Canada.

They have slightly different HSPA bands.

I was wondering where did he get the 648 to put back! Cause it is the same thing that happen to me! But i cant find a link or any thing to get back the one i had ( STL100 - 1) 10.0.10.261

Yep! APN setting on the BB z10 - BlackBerry Support Community Forums ( And the carriers have there part to play also Cause, once the os is updated and the carrier apn info is out dated the apn on the phone would not be accessible! Which makes sense to me! Because they both need to work hand in hand. Rember also Bmobile and Digicel dont have the phone available as yet, so we will run into these kind of problems)

hey i got mine to work on bmobile. i couldn't change the apn but with a digicel sim i could. i just backspaced the "bbweb" and typed "internet" which is bmobile's apn, clicked save then switched sim cards and it worked after that. got my white z10 off of amazon, its the stl100-1.

my APN is still locked to blackberry.net10 (bmobile sim) and i have 4G access.
still unable to change/edit the apn though.

I finally can get data.
Had to use the 4G BIS Plan and 2GB Data from bmobile,
very strange though as this stl100-2 wont get 4G in trinidad

It won't work because it does not have the hspa 1900 frequency. The only variants that will work are the 100-1 and 100-3. I am using a 100-1 unlocked on bmobile and get 4G (HSPA).

I am getting data on my phone now using that method, it's regular data.
The advice was given to me by other trinidadian users that have the 100-1, 100-2 and the 100-3 that couldn't get any data on their phone.

Read again what I wrote, it's strange because my version will not get 4G in Trinidad
